I worked on the road for nearly 15 years as a boilermaker and occupational safety specialist, split between the oil fields and various industrial sites. The idea for this business first took root seven years before I actually launched it. When my travel work slowed down in 2019, I realized it was time to make a change and began orchestrating a new career path.

Then 2020 arrived, bringing COVID-19 to the United States. It was a devastating time. I was trying to run my new business while still taking jobs on the road, but I lost over half my income as industries shut their doors to traveling workers. Facing that crisis, I prayed for a way to pivot so I could stay off the road permanently, and the Lord provided.

While the lockdowns were deeply painful for many, and my heart goes out to everyone affected, the time at home became a profound blessing for me. It served as a great reset. For the first time in years, I was able to slow down and truly spend quality time with my family. I taught my kids how to make homemade trotlines, and we went fishing while social distancing. In those moments, I reconnected with what matters most.

Pushing through those challenges to grow this business strengthened and humbled me. Even with the financial loss, I would go through it all over again for the personal growth and family time it brought into my life. I owe everything to the Lord; I am truly blessed and know where my strength comes from.
